If you want to find out if any otakus survive or Mr. Okay, I’m not giving away any more of the story. Helper and take him down, but the reprieve doesn’t last very long. It doesn’t bode well for the shoppers in the arcade, though. Helper isn’t a true robot – he’s moving around through the power of a reanimated corpse! That can’t be good.īut wait, there’s more! A disturbance in the arcade brings the crew to a video game store where yet another twist is added to the story. I love how horrified the scientists are here. Oops! Mr Helper decides to go for a wander around the shopping arcade. Turns out there’s a little more of the game cartridge programming left than the scientists had accounted for. Of course you know there are going to be some complications from that. Helper Unit Two is even better than the first one… Fortunately the scientists show up at the otaku complex (the manga artist lives in one of the apartments upstairs) and are ready to lend a hand. I admit here I felt better about packing and moving my measley 30 boxes. That doesn’t stop her from accepting their next job, though… It’s all grunt work from here on in! Sasaki eventually finds them some help in the form of a robotic power suit developed by some scientists at a nearby university but it breaks down before the job can be finished. That would be the forklift breaking down in the last panel. Unfortunately the first one isn’t exactly an easy one… Here are a few scenes from it.īusiness has been slow for the Kurosagi crew, and there was never much money in the corpse business to begin with, so Sasaki (the hacker/info guru) has the guys on moving jobs. I haven’t finished reading this one yet – I’m only two chapters in – but I loved the first story in this volume.
